“Sassicaia is believed to be one of the greatest wine creations of the century. It is an extremely enjoyable wine. May it continue to flourish over the years.” _
Serena Sutcliffe MW & David Peppercorn MW
Sassicaia is one of the most exceptional wines produced in Italy and is a true masterpiece of winemaking. It comes from the Tenuta San Guido vineyard in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany and has established itself as one of the wines that changed the world. It was originally created in the 1960s by Marco de Grotti and was one of the first Italian “Super Tuscan” wines, combining the classic Cabernet Sauvignon variety with Cabernet Franc.
This wine is characterized by an impressive deep ruby color with aromas of black fruits, vanilla, oak, and smoke. On the palate, it is full-bodied, refined, and elegant, with refined tannins and an amazing length. The aftertaste is an unprecedented taste experience. You can enjoy it now, but it also has the potential to age for many more years, further improving its complexity. It is a wine that requires special attention and dedication to enjoy, and it is worth every drop of attention it receives.
AGEING POTENTIAL: 25+ years
FOOD PAIRING: fine red meats, game, aged cheeses, stewed meat.
