Malagousia, Assyrtiko
Gerovassiliou rescued and promoted Malagousia, proving to all of Greece that Greek varieties can be the spearhead of Greek wine production. In this particular wine, he combines it perfectly with the heavy artillery of his vineyard, Assyrtiko, creating a wine of very high standards that stands out for its body and character!
Starting gently (almost shyly) on the palate, it continues to demonstrate its size and richness through a pleasant liveliness and harmony. The finish leaves a rather lemony aftertaste.
Its “nose” is expressive with alternating impressions, as notes of pepper (which make you think of Sauvignon Blanc), herbs, and lemon accompany the exotic fruits. It is recommended to consume within the first 2 years of its life.
FOOD PAIRING: seafood, fish, white meat with simple sauces, pasta, Greek salad (tomato & feta cheese), Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.
