P.D.O. Dafnes, Crete
Liatiko
“Daphnios”, named after the village of Daphnes in Heraklion, Crete, at an altitude of 350 meters. A dry version of the Liatiko variety. One of the most noble indigenous varieties of the Cretan vineyard.
It pleasantly surprises you with aromas of spices, tomato paste, perhaps olives, raw leather, and hints of black fruits, while with time, aromas of spices, dried fruits, and leather unfold. The color is attractive, not too deep, ruby with orange highlights—characteristic of the variety. The palate reflects the aromas of the nose, with moderate body, good acidity, and soft, delicious tannins that make for an elegant wine.
