Cafayate Valley, Salta, Argentina
Torrontes 100%
Amauta, in the Cafayate tradition, is the great teacher, the wise man whom the tribe revered for his knowledge of man and the universe. His teaching was based on divine duality, that is, two principles that complement each other like the sun and the moon, day and night, life and death. This series captures authenticity through simplicity.
Torrontes is Argentina’s signature variety and produces excellent results in high-altitude areas. The grapes for Amauto are grown in the 65-year-old Finca El Retiro vineyards, located at an altitude of 1,650 meters above sea level in Cafayate, Salta.
Bright colour, with an attractive nose offering aromas of fresh fruit and rose. Tropical notes, rose petal, lemon, and ginger make up its aromatic profile. On the palate, it is rich and aromatic, fresh and beautifully structured, with lovely rich ripe fruit and crisp acidity.
A wonderful Torrontes for those who know the variety! The rest of you should get to know it…
FOOD PAIRING: Asian cuisine, aromatic sea bass ceviche, tacos with guacamole, fruit salads, pies, seafood.
